Hi Ron, I have a lot of AP100 gunpowder. Just wondering if I could use say, 8gns of AP100 in a 44/40 Winchester Rifle 92 or 94 model instead of the 7.9gns of AP70 which I don’t have any of. AP100 is a slower burning powder. What do you reckon? Regards,

hello Ron, Please forgive an enquiry of this nature, I am a handloader for my No 1 Mk 111* and No 4 Mk1 .303s and have been for 23 years. I prefer Mulwex powders and use AR 2209 for rifle and case longevity, with compensating sight adjustments. Works well out to 300 metres, which is the limit of our SSAA range. I also load blackpowder in my Martini Enfield .303 as that is what is correct for the years 1892-1894 BC (before cordite). My problem is that I can only fit 55 grains of Swiss 3Fg into the case with severe compression of the load. This severe compression has proven to detract from accuracy. I can fit 53 grains of WANO 3P with moderate compression to produce good accuracy out to 100 metres. I have read that the original blackpowder loading was about 70 grains. How on earth did they fit this much blackpowder into a .303 case? That is my question. regards I p.s. I also load black powder in my original MH 577/450 with a paper patched 505 grain projectile. It is almost a religious experience to fire it.

G’day. I greatly enjoy your news letter, the sentiments expressed are spot-on!. I have just bought a 1913 vintage1892 win in .38WCF. the barrel is a bit rough?, but the action and appearance is very good! Would you have a download for a dis-assembly/assembly manual for the Winchester 1892?. I am also after any cannelured jacketed bullets of .40/.401 dia for reloading the .38-40Win, do you know if any can be obtained? or even if any do exist?. Or should I just buy a cannelure tool and be done with it?!. I want to use it more for hunting! rather than just target work. Regards

I have a Dan Wesson revolver model 732 with 6″ barrel (32 SW Long/ 32 HR Mag) and i was wondering what amount of Winchester WST should I use for a 90gn and 98gn wadcutter in both loads. I am having trouble finding a load table for these loads. Is there anything better than the WST for this gun. Regards Kevin

I have a 7.62×39 ruger rifle and am having more and more trouble finding good amunition. Is it correct that most manufacturers have dropped it as a calibre, if so can you suggest somewhere that is likely to have stock of the ammo. I have considered reloading, but as I dont use it that often, the cost to set up for reloads would probably be prohibitive. any sugestions would be greatly appreciated
