G’day. I greatly enjoy your news letter, the sentiments expressed are spot-on!. I have just bought a 1913 vintage1892 win in .38WCF. the barrel is a bit rough?, but the action and appearance is very good! Would you have a download for a dis-assembly/assembly manual for the Winchester 1892?. I am also after any cannelured jacketed bullets of .40/.401 dia for reloading the .38-40Win, do you know if any can be obtained? or even if any do exist?. Or should I just buy a cannelure tool and be done with it?!. I want to use it more for hunting! rather than just target work. Regards
Dear
Sorry this computers is full of data fro the website and email answering I would have a mod 92 Manual but you will have to hang on for a while until I find it or scan it in and bring it in for the fortnightly download then I have to delete them to make room for another. When I sell lots of Gun goods I will be able to afford a great big computer and have everything at my fingertips.
Anyway to your next problem , The answer is No to everything but the best solution is to buy Tiapan 165 FMJ at $12.55 per 100 (very well priced for these times) and buy a Lee Factory Crimp die which per there catalogue they do supply for 38-40 Win. They sell for about $40. and are made to crimp when there is no cannalure. Attempting to put a cannalure on a bullet after it has been manufactured would be frought with problems as once you push it in it will expand somewhere else. I know Forster made something to do this job but have not seen them for years. So I beleive that the Lee Crimp Die is the way to go.All the Best
Ron
