what is the best size projectile for deer and pigs when reloading 303
Dear Sir
This is a question, similar to what was asked in the play , 'The Man For All Seasons' . Only you will know the distance, size of animal, the area where you can take a shot. In Queensland the Red Deer can be made very dead with 130 g to 140 bullets. If your in Victoria and hunt Samba you may wish to use 174 or 180 grain bullets. Again if you were in northern Queensland and met a monster pig with the size and disposition of a Rhino you may again wished you had the large bullets. 125g might be better for Chital. Over 200 g bullets would lose more than they would gain except for wild bulls at close range. The lighter bullets can be shot at a higher velocity without unsafe increases in pressure, so they will shoot flatter and it will be easier for you to connect with the target. Only you can know the conditions and you have to chose.
All The Best
