Thoughts for The Week.
Quotes.
“What you do in your lifetime will echo down through eternity”,
Marcus Aurelius.
“The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody has decided not to see.” Quote.
“Man cannot survive except through his mind. He comes on earth unarmed. His brain is his only weapon. Animals obtain food by force. man had no claws, no fangs, no horns, no great strength of muscle. He must plant his food or hunt it. To plant, he needs a process of thought. To hunt, he needs weapons, and to make weapons – a process of thought. From this simplest necessity to the highest religious abstraction, from the wheel to the skyscraper, everything we are and we have comes from a single attribute of man -the function of his reasoning mind.”
– Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
Socrates. The Greeks insisted that each person take responsibility for his actions and his life by learning to make correct choices–thus the power of individualism is defined in relationship to a community that defines “correct choices.”
John Locke, The Second Treatise of Government.
“To understand political power aright, and derive it from its original, we must consider what natural estate all men are in, and in this, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and persons as they think fit, within the bounds of the law of Nature, without asking leave or depending upon the will of any other man.”
The above ideals were the objectives of a free society, that which inspired human progress, it gave people reasons to put their lives and fortunes at great peril in a cause of freedom. What do we fight for today, in a world where you can be persecuted for your opinions?
We may chose to go and fight for a little country that has been invaded by a gigantic country, but at the end of the war, (and who knows where and when it really ends) will the new world respect the individual freedoms as above, or follow the post World War Two philosophy of a collective programmed majority, where every individual freedom is sacrificed to make government control easier?
Outbreak in 2023, Is it Like the Outbreak of 1939?
2022 has ended, with a feeling that human progress, is again on a downward cycle, the sands of war are being thrown into the air and we on the periphery are sat immobilised waiting to see which country is going to be involved and which country they will side with. Countries, such as India, (friends of Russia) Thailand (friends of China) Turkey, (a foot in each camp). A China, that will do the un thinkable (SunTzu philosophy) when the blood is flowing in Europe. The USA that won’t put boots on the ground until they know who is going to win, but don’t mind donating arms to any country in the world who will weaken Russia, as that will leave only one other superpower as an enemy, China. After the outbreak, and after the wars, will the world for the third time, try to stop war by forming another ‘League of Nations, (which failed in the 1930s) or United Nations (which failed at its inception)?
At the end of the next World War would anyone with more brain power than a gnat, believe that we will have some of our individual rights returned to us? Would the winners return to a a land fit for hero’s, or more ‘collectivism’?

World War Two we at least had Bayonets to put on broom sticks. Not this time, just sharpen the stick, and don’t think your going to get a steel helmet.
Australia is defenceless so cannot make any effect on the progress of 2023 for better or worse. We just sit here with all our natural resources, like eggs in a basket, a target for the powerful.
For thirty or more years I have been writing, warning, prophesying this position that Australia finds itself in today. Most people are aware that Australia has no idea about defending itself. Our politicians only respond to media hype and the media has no idea about defence either.
The Fall And Decline of the Russian Empire.
Our leaders fear China, and are also aware that the USA is walking backwards to Christmas. China is feeling its power and was overjoyed at the mess of the USA evacuation of Afghanistan and have been smiling like Cheshire cats with the USA not being brave enough to put boots on the ground in Ukraine. China’s military planners, would be expecting the same indecisive result, when they invade Taiwan. China’s leader are also ecstatic that the Russians are getting flogged and are so unpopular that only Iran, and North Korea will sell Russia the basic tools of wars, for a price of Nuclear technology. Just the fact that the once Russia a super power has to ask North Korea and Iran for military aid is mind blowing proof that the Russian Empire has declined, fallen never to rise again. One would have to be suspicious of China’s intentions as they are supposed to be so ‘so’ chummy with Russia.
President Xi Jinping Had a Virtual Meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, 30th December 2022.
“it is important that China and Russia remain true to the original aspiration of cooperation, maintain strategic focus, enhance strategic coordination, continue to be each other’s development opportunity and global partner, and strive to bring more benefits to the two peoples and greater stability to the world.”
“Russia-China relations have grown more resilient, mature and stable and strategic coordination between the two countries has assumed greater significance, setting a fine example of major-country relations in the 21st century. Russia firmly supports China’s position on the Taiwan question and stays firmly committed to the one-China principle. Russia looks forward to enhancing exchanges and contacts with China and actively advancing cooperation in various fields..”
Yet China will not sell any of its artillery, Drones, or missiles to Russia? Why?
“As in nature, politics abhors a vacuum.” Will Poland or Lithuania take a slice?
As Russia becomes weaker, other European countries will naturally dive in, to regain territory that Russia, or the old Soviet Union has stolen from them, as it built barrier satellite counties around itself on the basis that an attacker like France, or Germany might start a campaign at their borders in July and be stuck outside of Moscow in the December Snow & Mud. It worked for them against Napoleon and Hitler.
When Ukraine takes Crimea back, Poland, or Lithuania, or Germany will want Königsberg back. As it was called German Konigsberg till 1946, which was Królewiec when it belonged to Poland. Founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1255, it is often associated with German militarism and the East Prussian corridor that Hitler used as an excuse to invade Poland in 1939. It is a City, a Baltic Sea port, now called Kaliningrad, (a Russian Oblast region) that is now a land locked part of Russia that has no land corridor to Russia. Lithuania has already banned any land transport from Russia to Kaliningrad.
Finland Takes East Karelia.
When Russia suffers its next large Military defeat, such as the recent Kherson pocket in Ukraine, Finland will begin to make moves to regain Karelia which was a historical province of Finland, and is now divided between Finland and Russia. The eastern part of this chiefly Lutheran area was taken by Russia after the Winter War of 1939–40.
At the beginning of the Second World War in 1939, the Soviet Union attacked Finland, thus starting the Winter War. The Treaty of Moscow, signed in 1940, handed a large portion of Finnish Karelia to the Soviet Union, and over 400,000 people had to be relocated within Finland. During the Continuation War, between 1941 and 1944, the Finns invaded and occupied much of East Karelia for three years. After World War Two, Soviet expansion caused considerable bitterness in Finland, which lost its fourth biggest city, Viipuri, its industrial heartland along the river Vuoksi, the Saimaa canal that connected central Finland to the Gulf of Finland, and access to the fishing waters of Lake Ladoga (Finnish: Laatokka). One eighth of its citizens became refugees with no chance of return. The whole population from the areas ceded to the Soviet Union was evacuated and resettled in other parts of Finland. The present inhabitants of the former Finnish parts of Russia, including the city of Vyborg/Viipuri and the Karelian Isthmus, are post-war immigrants or their descendants. Russia will fight very hard to retain it, as at the southern end it is very close to St Petersberg, Russia’s second largest city and as northern Karelia is close to its huge naval base of Murmansk and Russia only land route to Murmansk is a single road which goes north to south through Karelia. That will be a hard battle, but Finland has waited for seventy years for this opportunity.
Moldavia
Moldavia could be the opposite and as soon as the Moldavians rattle their sabres Russia could pull out of Transnistria as its chances of retaining any part of Ukraine, or Transnistra is very unlikely. Andrei Stratan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, stated in his speech during the 12th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Sofia on 6–7 December 2004 that “The presence of Russian troops on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is against the political will of Moldovan constitutional authorities and defies the unanimously recognized international norms and principles, being qualified by Moldovan authorities as a foreign military occupation illegally deployed on the territory of the state”. As of 2007 however, Russia insists that it has already fulfilled those obligations. It states the remaining troops are serving as peacekeepers authorised under the 1992 ceasefire, are not in violation of the Istanbul accords and will remain until the conflict is fully resolved. On the other hand, Moldova believes that fewer than 500 soldiers are authorised pursuant to the ceasefire and, in 2015, began to arrest and deport Russian soldiers who are part of the excess forces and attempt to use Moldovan airports. In a NATO resolution on 18 November 2008, Russia was urged to withdraw its military presence from the “Transdnestrian region of Moldova”. On 15 March 2022, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recognised Transnistria as a Moldovan territory occupied by Russia. Moldovia will move in as soon as it sees that Russia can do nothing in response.
Will Far East Russia be China ‘s Manchuria.
It would not surprise me if the Chinese following the philosophy of Sun Ztu with out warning strikes north and captures the Far Eastern Provinces of Russia. China would say, “it all used to be in China province of Manchuria” that would be the propaganda excuse.
Only 5 million people live in East Russia, East of Lake Baikel. Russia is very weak just struggling to engage the Ukrainians and no other country, besides Iran would lift a finger to help Russia, even North Korea as they are dependent and very scared of China. For hardly any cost China would have the massive natural resources of this huge area. Plus northern ports to the Pacific, right up the USA sparsely inhabited area of Alaska which again is full of oil, gas, coal, consolidating their supply chain before moving into the South China Sea for more Oil and Gas of Sarawak and Brunei. Of course China cannot move South and leave Taiwan behind its flank, so it will be gobbled up on the way. China will have the largest Semi Conductor producers under its full control.
Then I believe that they will then move in on Thailand cutting a canal through the Isthmus of Thailand so that there ships do not have to travel South via Singapore when they are trading with Africa and the Middle east. Then when China has consolidated its position as the largest super power in the world it will want to gobble up the resources of Australia and there will be no one to challenge them, or come to our aid. If the USA cannot, or will not save Taiwan then Australia future would be a slave mine for China. It would be as certain as night follows day. Grim I know, I hope we don’t live to see it but I worry about my daughter Meggy and my Grandson Alfred William Owen.
However How Inconvenient World War Three & Four Might Be.
War really is the at the bottom depth of human misery, we have another international bottom feeder working within Western Nations.
I had a visitor to the Owen Guns Museum, who I had not see for some time, a nice lady, works for Meals on Wheels, gives a lot of her time to our Gympie community, but unfortunately she has been infected by the new religion, Greenism, She caught it from her daughter who is a school teacher. One would think that if a teacher was dedicated to teaching young children, they would love to see the result of their work, but due to the fanatical extremisms of this fast growing new sect, they believe that the planet Earth would be better off without the human race and no matter of the normal logic that shows that without fertilisers people starve, without cows, people starve, without coal people freeze to death, that in their mind that is all for the good as humans will damage the planet.
Where does all this planet earth without humans come from? Who pays for the ‘Friends of the Earth’, or Gaia (A deity even atheists can believe in) it certainly not their members, a few of them are paid by the government education authorities, but most are just “Rent a Crowd, Dole bludgers. Interestingly the money for their campaigns trickles to a cascade through the enemy within.
The Enemy Within.
Everything that happens in the world, for good or bad, all contribute to increasing the fortunes of attendees to the Sun Valley conference. The conference has taken place in Sun Valley, Idaho for one week each July since 1983. The gathering typically includes major political figures, business leaders. Previous conference guests have included Bill and Melinda Gates, Elon Musk, Warren and Susan Buffett, Tony Blair, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Allen alumnus and former Philippine Senator Mar Roxas, former Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, Quicken Loans Founder & Chairman Dan Gilbert, Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang, financier George Soros, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, EBay CEO Meg Whitman, BET founder Robert Johnson, Time Warner Chairman Richard Parsons, Nike founder and chairman Phil Knight, Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell, NBA player LeBron James, Professor and entrepreneur Sebastian Thrun, Governor Chris Christie, entertainer Dan Chandler, Katharine Graham of The Washington Post, Diane Sawyer, InterActiveCorp Chairman Barry Diller, Linkedin co-founder Reid Hoffman, entrepreneur Wences Casares, EXOR and FCA Chairman John Elkann, and Washington Post CEO Donald E. Graham, Bob Iger, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, Oprah Winfrey, and Mike Bloomberg all gather to push the Green machine and to increase their society-warping fortunes. They and their fellow billionaires got more than 50% richer during the pandemic years, by doing absolutely nothing but sitting back and watching their capital grow as millions around the world suffered and died. Their power over the course of the western world grows ever more unassailable and unaccountable to anything other than their own whims. We are developing a private class of billionaire kings whose will is omnipotent and untouchable by any democratic force. This is the state of affairs that the Sun Valley conference serves to intensify. It is, by any reasonable measure, a threat to the long term stability of the world, stability does not increase their fortunes. Instability, does increase their fortunes. Forty years of wage stagnation, rising inequality, and the nightmarish pressures of all aspects of economic life are not enough to prompt us to cast a wary glance at an annual confabulation of all the people responsible for creating the conditions that have made it impossible to work one job and retire with dignity. These are the people who have, in fact, sucked up all of the money that no longer belongs to the mythical middle class, who openly cavort at the Sun Valley meetings. As far as they are concerned ‘Stability’, is Stagnation so they create ‘Instability by pushing the green machine. Billionaire businesses in the 1980s pushed for the Montreal Protocol which banned the use in refrigerators and air conditioners of the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) gases that make it work, due to its ill effects on the atmosphere. Of course the price of these gasses per pound increased 20 times over Dupont Chemicals made a fortune. We the long suffering public paid the price, all the old refrigerators and air conditioners had to be replaced and could not be re filled with the old gas. They could not be replaced by refrigerants such as ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons they were judged unsafe. They had to be replaced HFC (hydrofluorocarbons) and HC (hydrocarbons) which in turn were to be phase-down under the Montreal Protocol which was agreed in Kigali, Rwanda, in October 2016. They agreed that developed countries will phase-down their production and imports of HFCs by 85% between 2019 and 2036. Developing countries will also phase-down their HFC production and imports when they feel like it.
The Greens, now say that HFCs are massively potent greenhouse gases, thousands of times more powerful than carbon dioxide (albeit released in far smaller quantities). Some groups are promoting another class of fluorine-containing compounds called hydrofluoroolefins (or HFOs). These have a short lifetime in the atmosphere and so pose much less of a climate risk. However, other environmental groups have raised concern about the potentially toxic chemicals produced when HFOs break down.
Another option is to use mixtures of hydrocarbons such as butane. However our leaders have said that Hydrocarbons pose safety risks as they are highly flammable and may also adversely affect air quality. Ammonia is another alternative that has been used as a refrigerant for a long time but is highly toxic.
Finally, there is the surprise candidate: CO2. Although using CO2 as a refrigerant poses technical challenges, it is non-toxic and non-flammable and a much weaker greenhouse gas than the HFCs it would replace. Strangely, they say, CO2 may actually be the “best” refrigerant available. Is this finally, I doubt it. I believe that it is the Greens being financed by large multi national companies that continually cause instability that costs the consumer their savings. Where does the money end up? In the hands of the people that attend the Sun Valley conference.
Greens Advocate Population Liquidation. Genocide on a massive scale.
Population Control has been proposed for many years Thomas Malthus, a British clergyman and economist who published An Essay on the Principle of Population in 1798. Malthus argued that, “Population, when unchecked, increases in a geometrical ratio. Subsistence only increases in an arithmetical ratio.” He also outlined the idea of “positive checks” and “preventative checks.” “Positive checks”, such as diseases, wars, disasters, famines, and genocides are factors which Malthus believed could increase the death rate. “Preventative checks” were factors which Malthus believed could affect the birth rate such as moral restraint, abstinence and birth control. However, now these new zealots want to wipe out all population.
In 1968, Paul Ehrlich noted in his book ‘The Population Bomb;
“We must cut the cancer of population growth”, and “if this was not done, there would be only one other solution, namely the ‘death rate solution’ in which we raise the death rate through war-famine-pestilence, etc.” In his concluding chapter, Ehrlich offered a partial solution to the “population problem”, “[We need] compulsory birth regulation… [through] the addition of temporary sterilants to water supplies or staple food. Doses of the antidote would be carefully rationed by the government to produce the desired family size”
In late 2006, the Texas Academy of Science chose to honour Professor Eric R. Pianka, an eminent ecologist, with its 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist award. At the acceptance speech Professor Pianka used the occasion to champion the philosophy, that the Earth can only be saved if ninety percent of the human beings alive today are purged from the planet. He championed airborne Ebola as the most efficient virus to accomplish this.
After praising the Ebola virus for its efficiency at killing, Pianka paused, leaned over the lectern, looked at us and carefully said, “We’ve got airborne 90 percent mortality in humans. Killing humans. Think about that.”
And while he stopped short of calling for terrorist action to bring this result about, he clearly implied that this was a right and proper future for our species and our planet. Astonishingly, after advocating for a future in which more than 5,000,000,000 persons would die a slow and agonizing death, many members of the Texas Academy of Science stood to their feet and applauded. Since then many of his students who say they worship the professor. promulgate the notion to environment associations.
It goes without saying that these extremists’ demands aren’t scientific. Why else use Sierra Club-style chants like “keep it in the ground” to propose serious public policies, or humor wingnuts like Ehrlich who supported adding sterilant to Americans’ drinking water to reduce population growth and pressuring “pregnant single women to marry or have abortions”?

However we can assume that all the attendees of the Sun Valley conference, and their families would all be equipped with the antidotes.

What happened to the tropical paradise of Ceylon, it got turned into a Green Sri Lanka.
Green Starvation.
Some might have read, or heard of the plight of Sri Lanka, yet mainstream media omits to mention that in 2021 the government had an abrupt shift to ‘Green energy’, including AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) climate policy. In a bid to become the first ‘100% organic country in the world,’ Sri Lanka banned all fertilizers outright, overnight. Apparently, this ‘Green New Deal’ was a fatal blow for Sri Lanka because it cut crop yields by a whopping 50% within a year. Very few nations can survive the impact of having a 50% drop in food supply so quickly; and as it has so much international debt could not afford to import food or oil. So a lush tropical jewel which could be self-sustaining – and, what many young Sri Lankans (who have been brainwashed into the climate craze) forget to tell you is that they were all for the ‘Green New Deal, the last government gets the blame, but rather than publicise the truth the mainstream media are, of course, burying it by blame-shifting everything onto the former Sri Lankan ruling family. Green Farming’ sent Sri Lankan farming straight back into the stone ages and the ruling family spent everything to try to stop the economic/nutritional malaise resulting from indulging the young climate zealots, which then collapsed the country. The push for organic farming caught farmers by surprise and decimated staple rice crops, driving prices higher. To save on foreign exchange, imports of other items deemed to be luxuries also were banned. Meanwhile, the Ukraine war has pushed prices of food and oil higher. Inflation was near 40 per cent and food prices were up nearly 60 per cent in May.
The net result of ‘Green Energy’ is now that the kids have no pens or paper for school. The kids also have no school bus because Sri Lanka is so ruined they cannot even buy fuel. They also only have one meal a day because there will be no restoration of the food supply for at least one or two years, so the kids cannot walk to school as they are malnourished. Last week, two men died standing in the heat for hours just to get basic necessities. People cannot travel to hospital. The Tourism Industry ceased with the Covid Scare. The entire country is also profoundly poor and has no money because all of that pushed Sri Lanka’s inflation rate to 78% as of last week and still climbing. Their banking system will also probably see a complete collapse due to collapsing savings and a near total collapse of the real estate sector.
Now, imagine that today your family meal costs you $10, but virtually overnight it now costs $70 and inflation is still climbing. That (in simplistic terms) is how this utter madness has affected Sri Lanka. It’s a clear and poignant warning for the West,
How can we allow these suicidal zealots to influence our nations children?
The world would rightly condemn anything which afflicted this kind of mental disease on children; instead, the Left rewards it as “heroism.”
One day, when the fantasy of global warming has gone the way of global cooling, phrenology, and eugenics, future generations will shake their heads in disbelief that we once entertained such mass delusions—and wonder why we ever listened to pompous plutocrats in the first place. Big Green is a big business. With billions of dollars in research grants at stake it’s little wonder that liberal academics use ever-worsening scare tactics to justify their unscientific assertions. After all, in how many industries can you be called an “expert” after being wrong in every prediction for the last 40 years?
“Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads armed with nothing but their own vision. Their goals differed, but they all had this in common: that the step was first, the road new, the vision unborrowed, and the response they received — hatred. The great creators — the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors — stood alone against the men of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible. The power loom was considered vicious. Anesthesia was considered sinful. But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won.”
– Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
“There is no Spring without Winter, without Mistakes there is no Learning. There is no Life without Death, without Doubts there is no Faith. There is no Peace without War, without Fear there is no Courage. For without Mistakes, Doubts and Fears there are no pathways to Wisdom.”
