WHY OWEN GUNS does not have SHOPPING BASKETS?? But has CONTACT MAIL ORDER Instead.
mail order , in the Firearm industry has been getting a bad reputation of late, besides the Asia off shore internet mail order houses selling Fake Branded Rifle scopes with clear plastic instead of glass lenses, reticule adjusters that don’t work, but have a red and green illuminated cross hair, all with quality Brand names on the packaging, we have on shore internet sites that offer you pages where you put it in the shopping basket and give your card details and jobs done. But That’s Only The Start. Then the problems start either the goods do not arrive, you spend hours waiting on the phone, when you finally get some one the goods are out of stock and you have to wait till they come in, or the wrong goods appear and again you have to spend hours on the phone, just waiting to get through, then you pay to send it back and wait again for the next replacement, or there is an un expected large freight cost that was not made obvious to you when you put your order in the basket. None of this occurs at Owen Guns, we do not have online shopping baskets we encourage our mail order customers to make prior contact, to confirm that we have, just the stock you require, and you know exactly how much the freight component will cost you. It only takes a quick call to 07 54825070 or 0754824099 in shop hours 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays, or fax to 07 54824718 with your credit card details, email owenguns@spiderweb.com.au emails and fax will be confirmed with freight component before dispatch. We want to encourage contact between our staff and customers, we want to make friends with our customers, some of who have been customers for over 40 years. If we fail, we want to know about it, so we can remedy it. Contact is the only way for lasting customer friendships to exist. TO ORDER. Details should include Name of card, ie Visa or Mastercard. Name on Card. Number on Card, Expiry Date of Card, 3 secret numbers on the rear of the card. Your home phone or mobile number. How you want it sent to you, ie mail or road freight. There is no Spring without Winter, without Mistakes there is no Learning. There is no Life without Death, without Doubts there is no Faith. There is no Peace without War, without Fear there is no Courage. For without Mistakes, Doubts and Fears there are no pathways to Wisdom.Question. What did John Howard’s Gun laws do to stop Man Haron Monis? Answer ZERO.In fact the Governments only response was to shoot him and kill a few innocent hostages. The Government, then states Islamic’s cannot be blamed for the actions of one man, then announces further restrictions on Law Abiding Licenced Firearm Owners effectively punishing over a million people. Our Government says its immoral to blame all Islamic’s for the actions of a few terrorists, yet they have no hesitation in punishing every Australian law abiding licensed shooter.
For the actions of one Islamic terrorist, who had no licence, no Permit To Acquire, and no fear of a death sentence. The Chocolate Café gun, had never been licensed, had survived two buybacks and all the efforts of our police force to capture it, as it has been un registered for 19 years.
On 27 Jun 2015, Tony Abbot says Islamic State ‘coming after us’ “We may not feel like we are at war with them, but they are certainly at war with us.”
Like the saying goes “not all Muslims are terrorists but 99% of Terrorists are Muslims”. Government tells us ‘Islam is a peaceful religion ? I believe it is a totalitarian political movement that wants world domination and will even kill their own converts to ensure it happens. Our lives are worth less than nothing to these people. Seems our government does not really want to oppose them or has similar ideas. Are our leaders too scared, or too dumb?
The Terrorist Man Haron Monis was facing prosecution and bailed on 100s of sex crimes, due to the governments protection of his creed, they let him loose. So Governments and the Terrorist are both responsible for his actions at the Chocolate Café, yet a million law abiding licensed shooters will suffer further impositions and losses of property. Again the government punishes the innocent to protect the governments falsely perceived multicultural paradise.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s dramatic intervention will stop 7000 Adler lever-action shotguns entering Australia. The imports will be suspended for at least six months, until the National Firearms Agreement review process is completed.
Justice Minister Michael Keenan “stressed that the decision to suspend imports was not about targeting law-abiding gun owners but reflected the heightened terrorist threat in Australia.”

Quote
“Shooters may be forced to hand in all lever-action firearms, Headlines Weekly Times.
AUSTRALIAN shooters may be forced to hand back thousands of lever-action guns if moves to reclassify the firearms go ahead.
Federal and state governments have said they will look at reclassifying the guns in light of a new seven-shot lever-action shotgun due to enter the Australian market.
A senior government official said the mooted change may be made retrospective, which could lead to a buyback of the thousands of lever-action rifles and shotguns already legally owned by Australian shooters.”
Banning a 150 year old firearm mechanism will not prevent one person from injury. When Big Ears wants to disarm us and lay bare our throats to Islamic terrorists which he claims are set to attack Australians, does he have sympathy for Islamic’s, or fear of Islamic’s? As we are at War, either way it is treason against the Australian people.
Every licensed firearm owner in Australia has already been tested and deemed a fit and proper person, by the very same authorities that are proposing to stop the legal purchase of a type firearm that is made from 150 year old technology. They falsely claim that this current action will preserve the population from Islamic Terrorist Attack. Terrorists are not going to hand in any of there firearms or explosives at any government buybacks. The only way the government is going to take firearms off Terrorist is when they are dead.
This isn’t going to do anything to stop a terror attack like the Lindt cafe — this is just going to further victimise -people who have legal guns for legitimate reasons.
The Liberal National Party must like it in opposition, they must want to disarm and leave licensed shooters defenceless this will force Queenslands 600,000 licensed shooter into voting for independents.
Now when for years we have had a 16% increase in applicant for Shooters licences, 600,000 licensed shooters in Queensland, 30 % of new licence applications are women. These people have paid and worked to be involved in their chosen sport, they have suffered and paid for courses, paid for licences, paid for PTAs suffered having their names and address listed on Crimtrac. They have suffered innumerable delays and waiting periods, public servants losing their paperwork, invasions of privacy, by police checking their security, then to beat it all the police are found to be selling detailed lists of shooters addresses and lists of expensive firearms that they have secured to criminals, so they can be burgled and stolen. Then they blame the shooters for stolen guns accusing us of being unable to secure them. Yet the Victorian Police lost 200, the Defence Department lost 5000.
What do we do about it?
I have known my local Member of parliament Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss for 28 years, yet I have phoned his office twice a day and sent him three emails this week asking for the legislation changes to the Prohibited Imports Regulations that would empower the Prime Minister to act like Tin Pot Dictator and make a determination from his whim without consultation with those who are impacted by it, and without the consent of his parliament, or the consent of the Australian people. Of course I have had no answers he has bunkered down and won’t come out. Why was it due to our first meeting when he was standing for Joh Belke Petersen Blue Ribbon seat of Kingaroy. He as the Mayor wanted to be Johs heir apparent, I was organising his demise. At that time 1988 Police Minister at the time Bill Gunn and the National Party had a 28 point new gun low proposal for Queensland. At that time the Queensland National Party was the largest political party in Australia with over 5000 members. The Firearm Owners Association supported two candidates against him. With the combination of preferences Warren Truss lost the seat and one of our candidates won. The Bill Gunn Gun Laws was thrown out on the same night the results were announced.

Warren is looking a little under the weather in this photo, bad election results, or not enough booze?
In 1996 when Police Minister Russel Cooper announced that he was going along with John Howard’s un informed Gun laws I wrote to Russel Cooper and told him if he persisted, Firearm Owners would split the National Party and that the National Party would be able to transport their MPs to parliament in a Mini Bus. After the next election only 11 National Party MPs were returned. The National Party had to amalgamate with the Liberal Party and it has never recovered.
After the Senate Constitutional Committee spent 18 months and millions of dollars, reviewing Australia’s Gun Laws and returning a majority conclusion in Recommendation 5
“1.225 The majority of Senators attending the inquiry recommend State and territory governments investigate avenues to deregulate the firearm industry to ease the economic burden on governments, industry and legal firearm users.”
Firearm Owners expected some slight relief.
Instead, Dictator Tony Abbott has announced another Commonwealth National Firearm Law Review which threatens us with further losses of what we want to buy, at least 20,000 obviously want an Adler 12 gauge lever action shotgun, plus Firearm Owners are living under the threat of losing the lever action rifles and pumps by a re categorising, a re definition of a firearms category. Category’s of firearms that have not altered for 150 years. If fact collectors are threaten with the loss of their property, such as 1866 Winchester. Those firearms were legal to own 159 years ago but now Australians are so downtrodden, merely slaves, now the government is proposing to re categorising them so that Licenced Shooter with Cat A& B licences will have to hand them in. Selling, lever actions won’t be an option as they will again take the market away as they did in 1997 and 2003. Licensed Shooters have been treated like a mad dog on a chain but soon the chain is going to break. In the 1990s, during the retaliation to the 1997 Gun laws Licensed shooters used the One Nation movement to punish the National Party. This decision by ‘Big Ears’ and Noddy Truss to punish the innocents will sow the wind but will reap the whirlwind.

Warren celebrating as he counts his traveling expenses. We need to make sure they travel out of office.
I have found that it is best to write, email phone go and see your local MP as if you write to the PM or Premier or a Minister they keep the complaint or question in house and your elected representative does not find out about your dissatisfaction. Im lucky my local MP is the Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss. If you can write or email forward a copy of your letter to the local newspaper or radio station so that they get the idea, Of course get all your friends and relatives to do the same.
The response is building. With Internet email Facebook we have organising tools that were not available to shooter in the past campaigns.
I put this up on our Deputy Prime Ministers Facebook page it might only be on their a few days before his staff take it down, but it ensures that he gets the message.
“Dear Warren, We were introduced 28 years ago and have met at many dinners and functions since that time, but I have been phoning your office for a week asking for a copy of the legislative Act that has gone through the House to empower the PM to make decisions in a dictatorial way, to alter the Import Regulations at a whim, with no consultation, no mandate from the Australian people? I have followed this up with three emails. As I have had no phone back, no answers I can only conclude that there is no legislation and your PM and yourself as Deputy are acting illegally, which is imposing further restrictions on law abiding Licensed shooters. Your my representative, you have a duty to re present my concerns to Parliament, your silence will split the conservative voters. The National Party has never recovered from John Howards Gun Laws and again your following in his path. It seems like we need a strong independent candidate for my electorate of Wide Bay.
You and your friends might also want to attend the Shooter Union “Towards Fairer Gun Laws Forum” on Thursday 13th August at Broncos Leagues Club Red Hill at 6.30 pm with entertainment from Steve Lee “I Like Guns”. You can make bookings on www.shootersunionqld.com.au

The JW 15 sometimes known as the Chinese Brno, the Norinco or the Puma. The best value .22 Rifle on the market. $195 Synthetic or Wood. As many of you are aware, the Jain Wia Model 15, or JW 15 Norinco, or JW Puma is a copy of the old bolt action Model 1 BRNO. It has been on the market for years and has a well earned reputation as a reliable accurate work horse. Basically the rifle is simple, it has a simple but large bolt, that has diametrically opposed double locking lugs, (not just locking on the bolt handle) which has the advantage of safer lock up behind the cartridge and broader locking surfaces that resist head space wear, as a high point on a single locking lug can quickly wear and the shooter will experience cartridge rims blowing out due to the excess headspace. It has a simple 5 round magazine which is steel and a steel magazine holder, all features that are sometimes missing on firearms that cost $1000 or more. They have simple trigger system almost identical to the Brno Model 1 that we all had no problem adjusting in the 1960s. The wooden stock is not walnut, it’s just a simple stock made of some unspecified Chinese wood, which has properties similar to Walnut. Rough on the inside but these day have an attractive oil finished on the outside, blink the eye and it looks like a CZ American Classic without the price tag. The action at first is not silky smooth like a Tikka, its a little gritty, but plenty of use, or take off the sharp edges with a fine wet and dry paper and it soon smooths down into a nice action. The same goes for the trigger as it is no frills, just require a little TLC on the adjustment and it always works. Forget the safety catch, you would need to be a Russian weightlifter, a Japanese Sumo wrestler to get it on and off, but all rifles are safe if the bolt is open and deadly dangerous when closed. No safety ever should be trusted, the bolt is much more visible and can be much easily visually checked by all present. My old JW Norinco is primarily a rabbit rifle. Countless rabbits have been sent to the happy hunting ground, and in the early 1990s I did get a AAA second in the Metallic Silhouettes Nationals and State Champions with it. In essence this is what the JW 15 is built for, it’s a hunting tool that is reliable and solidly built which can be used at the range for plinking and starting on the competition circuits. My JW is also accurate, at 100 metres using Eley Club, I can get a 5 shot group in less than an inch. I have seen it out shoot many more expensive rifles at the range. It is one of the rifles that I will never sell as it has earned my faith and trust in all of the endeavours I have asked for it, and will continue to do so for many years to come. Also at $195. they are the best value .22lr on the Australian market. So do yourself a favour and go get yourself one or two, you will be pleasantly surprised. Ron. Its Bargain Time.
The Pro Shooter is a full scale replica of the famous Colt 1911 a1 .45 auto. It is sold as a toy and is harmless, but it is a great training tool. Not only does the pistol have an adjustable laser so it can be zero with the sights, its best attribute is for teaching un aimed ‘Point and Shoot, finger pointing aiming for that first life saving split second shot. The soldiers fall over when hit dead in the centre and the optional self writing targets can be bought as optional extras. These targets can be set up in a row and shot one after the other. $45 for the pistol and soldiers and $16. For the self writing targets. Plus post. The kids might like them as well.

“It’s a week since I received a copy of “Range Officers Hand Book” and since that time I am nearly at the half way mark. I’m amazed at the at the number of subjects you have covered making it one of the most informative books to be added to my collection. It must have taken you a considerable amount of time and experience to publish the book with information not available in other popular Gunsmith manuals. I would recommend the book to “Range Officers” and anyone interested in the sport of target shooting and hunting.” Regards Gene M Cornford P.O.Box 288, Kaeo 0448 N.Z.
